Life gets that much better when you’re drinking a glass of Stella Rosa wine and nibbling on a piece of chocolate. But it can get ten times better when the chocolate is infused with Stella Rosa! This Stella Rosa Chocolate Truffle recipe combines the best of both worlds – chocolate and wine. How can you not love these two delicate decadences at once? Get your favorite bottle of Stella Rosa red wine to get started!
• 120 ml Stella Rosa Rosso, Black, or Red
• 260 g dark chocolate
• 60 ml heavy cream
• 1 tbsp butter
• Cocoa powder, for rolling truffles
1. Put the chopped dark chocolate in a heat-resistant bowl and set aside. In a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine Stella Rosa wine and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil and remove from heat. Pour over chocolate pieces and let this sit for a few minutes, until the chocolate has melted. Using a whisk, gently stir them until combined. The result should get a thick and smooth ganache. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator until completely set, about 2 hours.
2. Using a melon-baller or a teaspoon, scoop out chocolate balls from the chilled ganache. Roll the balls between the palms of your hands quickly and roll in the cocoa powder. Store in refrigerator. Remove the truffles from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving.
