These delightful cupcakes are vanilla with pink buttercream frosting spiked with Stella Rosa® Pink wine.

 Prep Time 20 minutes

 Cook Time 18 minutes

 Total Time 38 minutes

 Servings 18 cupcakes

Ingredients:

Cupcakes

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Stella Rosa® Pink

Frosting

  • 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon Stella Rosa® Pink
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

Instructions:

Cupcakes

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in the vanilla extract just until combined.

In a medium sized bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup Stella Rosa® Pink and 1/2 cup sour cream (mixture will fizz a little).

With the mixer on low, gradually add in the flour mixture in three parts, alternating with moscato mixture. Mix until batter is uniform and smooth, about 30 seconds.

Fill prepared cupcake liners about 3/4 full and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven, transfer cupcakes to a cooling rack, and allow them to cool to room temperature before frosting.

Frosting

Place 1 cup of Stella Rosa® Pink in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium-high heat until reduced to 2 tablespoons. Transfer to a small bowl or condiment cup and allow to cool.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, cream softened butter and powdered sugar together. Once the frosting is thick and fluffy, pour in the reduced 2 tablespoons moscato plus 1 tablespoon moscato from the bottle and mix well.

Frost the cupcakes and garnish with nonpareil sprinkles if desired.

Whether you’re going out with your boo or spending your Valentine’s Day with your true love, Stella Rosa wine, be sure to enjoy yourself and indulge in these guilty pleasures!

10. Took down my Christmas decorations (finally!)
11. Cancelled my plans so I could stay in and binge-watch ‘Friends’ on Netflix
12. Ignored my text messages because I was busy creeping on my ex’s Instagram
13. Drank Stella Rosa Moscato D’Asti wine straight out of the bottle
14. Memorized the words to ‘Baby Got Back’ (I blame this on binge-watching ‘Friends’)
15. Vowed to start running (tomorrow…or maybe the next day)

How To Create An Instagram-Worthy Charcuterie Board

  • -

And the award for best wine goes to… Stella Rosa!

Award-winning wine is just what you want when you’re tuning in to all the awards shows like the Grammys, BAFTAs, and Oscars (to name a few). To go with your wine, put together a delectable charcuterie board. We’ve got the tips right here so you create the most eye-catching, Instagram-worthy spread.

Meat
2 ounces of a meat per person. Vary up flavors and textures like a hard salami, a smoked meat, something soft like pate, and something tangy like a pineapple sausage.

Cheese
Like with meat, offer a variety of textures and styles: sharp, creamy, funky, soft, etc. Cheeses from different regions work well too.

Bread & Crackers
Keep it simple so as to not overpower the flavors of your meats and cheeses. Crackers and toasted baguette slices do just fine.

Garnishes & Condiments
Here’s where you get to add more color to your board. What do you like (to eat or just for presentation)? Mustard, pickles, nuts, olives, figs, grapes, honey, jam, fennel salad, micro greens, etc.

Get creative! Put a little thought and strategy into this so you can get a good variety – and an Instagram and Snapchat-worthy board! But, don’t overthink it either because in the end, you’re munching on these with a glass of Stella Rosa wine and that’s the most important part!

Show off your charcuterie masterpiece by following us on Instagram and Twitter and using #StellaRosa and #Stellabrate in your caption.

Game Day Finger Foods

  • -

Sundays are family days and by family days we mean gathering at one’s home, piling our plates with food, filling our cups with alcohol, and shouting at the television. We’re watching football of course! It’s important that the team we root for wins (obviously) but it’s nearly as important to have good food and drink to last the afternoon. Each week we try and change up our game day bites but as for our sips, we’re loyal to our tried-and-trues: Stella Rosa and Bodega Sangria. That being said, take a peek into what’s on our menus for the next few weeks!

The 7-Layer Dip That’s All Yours
Skip the large serving bowl and serve the 7-layer dip in individual ramekins. No more fighting for the bowl!

Spinach & Artichoke Dip
If you ask us, this is your serving of vegetables, so dip away! We particularly like Alton Brown’s recipe, which you can find here.

Creamy Potato Salad with Bacon
This potato salad beats all others for so many reasons: 1 point for ‘creamy,’ 2 points for ‘with bacon,’ 3 points for the fact that this is Chrissy Teigen’s recipe! Get the recipe from her cookbook, Cravings.

Deviled Eggs
If anyone knows a mean deviled egg, it’s Giada De Laurentiis. Made to perfection, get the recipe by clicking here.

Bacon-Wrapped Onion Rings
The name says it all – we’re sold. Get the recipe by clicking here! Oh, did we mention there’s Sriracha in the recipe? Perfect.

King Sliders
Sliders are the way to go, especially when you’ve got a ton of other food to snack on. The best bread: King’s Hawaiian. Slice each roll in half and give it a light toast, then pile on your typical fixings.

Chicken and Waffles Sliders
Whether you make waffles from scratch and fry your own chicken, or cook frozen waffles and pick up fried chicken from the store, these will be a hit. Don’t forget the maple syrup!

Island Ahi Tuna
Think poke. But loaded with the goods like mango, onion jalapeno, lime, chili, and so much more. We’re going straight to a woman who knows a little thing or two about preparing game day food – Ayesha Curry. Get this recipe in her book, The Seasoned Life.

DIY French Bread Pizza
Put out various pizza toppings like cheese, tomato sauce, olives, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, peppers, etc. You may need to cook some of these before hand. Then slice open some bread and let each person create his or her own mini pizzas. Pop these in the oven at 350* for about 8 minutes to let the cheese melt and bread crisp up a bit.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Take your basic dark chocolate dipped strawberries to the next game by piping on white frosting or melted white chocolate so that it looks like a football.

That should hold us over for the remainder of the football season but you can bet we’ve got these on hand for all other sports’ viewing parties! We’ve got enough food, but we always make sure to have more than enough Stella Rosa and Bodega Sangria! We’re ready to eat, drink, and watch the game!

Feeling Thankful…And Hungry!

  • -

moscatopie

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays. It’s that special time of the year we get a break from our hectic schedules and can reconnect with friends and family while devouring our favorite comfort foods.

Although we love traditional favorites, the best Thanksgiving menu includes both classic family recipes and dishes with a modern twist. Feast your eyes on some of these Thanksgiving food and wine pairings featuring Maddalena Wines, San Simeon Wines, Stella Rosa, and Bodega Sangria!

Stuffing & Maddalena Pinot Grigio

A light white wine like Maddalena Pinot Grigio has the perfect flavor profile to elevate the rich and savory flavors in a buttery stuffing, allowing the strong array of spices and herbs to come through. When pairing wine with foods, it’s important to make sure that the flavors complement each other. Stuffing has such a distinct flavor that when selecting a wine to pair with it, we wanted to choose a wine with a delicate flavor, making Maddalena Pinot Grigio the perfect fit.

Classic Mashed Potatoes & Stella Rosa Imperiale Moscato Rose

moscatomash2

This pairing had us at mashed potatoes! But to add some finesse to our childhood favorite, we added Stella Rosa Imperiale Moscato Rose and fell in love all over again! Stella Rosa Imperiale Moscato Rose gives some pep to the mashed potatoes’ step with its notes of apricots and wildflower. The fizz in Imperiale Moscato Rose left us wanting more!

Pecan Sweet Potato Casserole & San Simeon Chardonnay

The bright fruit flavors of San Simeon Chardonnay pairs nicely with creamy sweet potato casserole. We made a salted pecan crust for our sweet potato casserole, bringing out even more of the toasty vanilla flavors in the wine.

Truffled Mac and Cheese & Stella Rosa Rosso

A hearty dish like Truffled Mac & Cheese requires a sturdy, distinct wine to pair with. And that perfect wine is Stella Rosa Rosso. It brightens up the nutty truffle flavors and mellows out the zingy cheesy goodness.

Glazed Maple Carrots & Stella Rosa Moscato D’Asti

The most delicious and easiest way we like to eat our veggies is with Stella Rosa Moscato D’Asti! We used fresh carrots and marinated them in maple syrup and cinnamon until they were soft. Moscato D’Asti has notes of honey, pear, and apricot, creating a nectarous flavor combination.

Buttermilk Cornbread & Maddalena Muscat Canelli

The deliciousness of crumbly buttermilk cornbread paired with semi-sweet Maddalena Muscat Canelli is a flavor we are thankful for!  The mild sweetness of the cornbread and wine creates a smooth, delicious, and refreshing fusion of flavors.

Corn Pudding & Bodega Sangria

We couldn’t leave Bodega Sangria out of the Thanksgiving mix. Bodega Sangria cut the hearty creaminess of the corn pudding nicely, leaving room for our palate to taste our favorite sangria that bursts with notes of fresh citrus fruit and cinnamon.

Pumpkin Pie & Stella Rosa Peach

stellapeach

Our Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious, we almost thought of skipping dessert, but we just couldn’t bring ourselves to leave out the classic Thanksgiving indulgence, pumpkin pie! When selecting a wine to pair with it, we began thinking of the robust pumpkin filling on the bed of flakey, buttery crust. Stella Rosa Peach brought out the nutty and slightly sweet flavors of the pumpkin and paired nicely with the creamy whipped topping.

Apple Pie & Stella Rosa Platinum

Okay, we know we already had pumpkin pie, but we figured, what’s Thanksgiving without apple pie!? And Thanksgiving is the time to indulge in our favorite foods, so we added one last pairing to our Thanksgiving menu: Apple Pie and Stella Rosa Platinum! Stella Rosa Platinum has a semi-sweet taste and wraps your palate in luscious notes of green apple and vanilla, the perfect complement for a slice of apple pie.

We have a lot to be thankful for, but most of all, we are thankful for all of you, our supporters! And because we are so thankful, we are giving away online promo codes for our wine! Follow Maddalena Wines, San Simeon Wines, Stella Rosa, and Bodega Sangria on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to be the first to know about November and December’s giveaways and holiday specials!
