Best of the Best: Moscato d’Asti

Moscato d’Asti can be recognized on a menu with just a glimpse. But, do you really know the history behind this semi-sweet, white wine, and what makes it the best?

Moscato d’Asti originated in Asti, Italy, a province in the north-west. Though it is often considered a dessert wine, it has recently made its way onto the dinner wines menu. The light and crisp notes of Moscato d’Asti make it the perfect pairing for most salads and fish dishes, but, for sweet wine lovers, can be paired with anything.

Stella Rosa Moscato d’Asti has notes of fresh peach, apricot, and nectarine. It truly is the best when served chilled, due to its sparkle. There are non-sparkling Moscato d’Asti wines, but they are most commonly frizzante. Due to its hint of sweetness and sparkle, it often has low alcohol content, making it very easy to drink, and truly the best wine to enjoy for any occasion.
